Ok so 12 years ago I learned how to read food Labels. This has not only taught me how to "Eat Clean", but It has also taught me how to establish Healthy Eating habits! My mom was always big about teaching us the importance of Real Raw food, not the processed junk we feed ourselves and families these days!
I think this is a simple but very effective tool that everyone should know how to do, also teach those small children. The saying "You are what you eat" we have all heard it, but if you are shoveling in candy, sugar, cakes, cookies,pizza chips and processed foods then you are going to show it on the outside. I believe when this happens we become discouraged or disappointed in our selves and we begin to have a defeated attitude. You begin to feel angry, tired, stressed and this is not the way to live. Everyone has the opportunity to be That person that God created them to be! Amazing/Beautiful/ Warrior/Fighter/ we get knocked down and we get right back up!!!

I get really tired of people looking down on someone who actually reads nutrition facts and not only that but to look at the ingredients too. I read ingredients bc I am vegan, but to read it together with the nutrition facts you can determine where that 'fat' or 'carb' is coming from and know if it is something you should be putting in your body. What a wonderful mama you have to teach you such importance of raw food. Foods in their most natural form are always the best and not only that but I firmly believe that if we consumed them this way, we would not ail as much nor be as nutritionally deprived nor suffering in our immune system. Many many many things (I cannot stress this enough) start with our nutrition. It shocks lots of people to realize that some diseases/illnesses can originate or even be cured with simply eating clean. I really don't take genetics as an excuse bc I am proof of that. The saying is indeed true "All things in moderation" but I think far more important is "real food". I have learned if it is real, I don't count calories I personally don't need to if it's real. Your body knows how to properly handle real food, it was NEVER designed to handle modified and practically man-made or lab-created food.
